The TMUA is a fast-paced, no-calculator, computer-based exam. You have exactly 3.75 minutes per question. Zero marks are deducted for wrong answers. That means speed, precision, and smart elimination matter.

You must register via a UAT-UK account and choose a local Pearson VUE test centre in India or the GCC. The registration cost for international centres outside the UK is £133.

Frequently asked questions
Are formula sheets or rough paper allowed in the TMUA?
No formula sheets are provided, and calculators are strictly forbidden during the test. You must memorise key standard formulae, trigonometric values, and algebraic identities beforehand. However, Pearson VUE test centres will provide you with an erasable whiteboard and marker or scratch paper for rough calculations.
How is the raw TMUA mark converted into the 1.0 to 9.0 score scale?
Your total raw score out of 40 (20 questions per paper) is converted to a scaled score between 1.0 and 9.0 using a statistical algorithm that accounts for the relative difficulty of that year’s paper. Generally, getting ~26–28 correct answers out of 40 corresponds to a 6.5+ score, while 32+ correct answers push your score into the 7.5–9.0 bracket.
Can I retake the TMUA if I get a low score?
No, you cannot retake the TMUA within the same UCAS admissions cycle. You may only sit the exam once per application year (choosing either the October or January sitting depending on your target university requirement). If you choose to reapply through UCAS in a subsequent year, you can sit the exam again.
Are my TMUA scores sent to universities automatically?
No. Unlike some other standardized tests, TMUA results are released to you first via your UAT-UK / Pearson VUE portal. You must log in to your account after results are published and explicitly select (“Share Results”) which universities and UCAS courses receive your score.
What happens if I make a mistake or guess a question?
There is no negative marking on the TMUA. Incorrect answers carry zero penalty. If you run short on time or encounter an exceptionally tricky logic question, you should always eliminate unlikely options and guess rather than leave a question blank.
